2022 Retail Calendar
Looking ahead to 2022, we have pulled together a list of the key dates in the retail calendar that your business may benefit from. Maybe you have never ordered stock for some of these events in the past, or are unsure of what lines could work? In any case, we have listed our product recommendations as an excellent starting point. The great thing is that our stock is not specific to any seasonal event (except Christmas!), so it can easily sell through all year round, making it a low risk investment for your business.
Sales of any heart accessories increase in the run up to Valentine’s Day, and red gift boxes and gift bags for Valentine’s day gifts are also popular. Many crafers or makers like to use red gift boxes or red organza bags for their Valentine’s Day products, and if you’re a jewellery retailer, don’t forget those ring boxes as proposals sky rocket on the 14th of Feb. 3rd March - School Book Characters
Dressing up accessories sell well as many schools across the UK participate in dressing up as book characters to celebrate reading. Our animal headbands transform anyone into their favourite book character for very little cost. 18th March - Red Nose Day
This is a popular fundraising event in schools and businesses across the UK where activities often include dressing up for sponsorship. There is a festival theme for 2022, featuring the popular CBeebies character Love Monster. 27th March - Mother’s Day
Stock up on your bestselling hair accessories as these pick up items make great gifts for Mother’s Day. We also have new floral print gift bags in stock, which typically sell in volume in the run up to Mother’s Day. If you’re a maker or crafter, make sure that you have enough gift box and bag supplies for your goods, as sales usually increase as customers search for gifts for their Mums. If you’re an online retailer, we always recommend stocking up on postal packaging for key events so that your parcels can be sent out without delay. 17th April - Easter
Our rabbit ear headbands are the most popular lines over Easter. Great for egg hunts, school events and corporate activities, anyone can turn into the Easter bunny with our rabbit ear headbands. 2nd and 3rd June - Queen’s Jubilee
Try anything red, white and blue for the Queen’s platinum jubilee. Sales of items in these patriotic colours always do well in the run up to Royal events and were estimated to be worth £823 million for the Diamond jubilee celebrations back in 2012.

19th June - Father’s Day
Typically sales of our gift boxes and gift bags sell well before Father’s Day as customers are looking for gift solutions and makers and sellers need additional packaging stock. July / August - Summer Festivals
Summer festivals should be back with a bang this year, and you can create a mini festival range for your customers with our products. Alicebands, scrunchies, floral hair garlands, multi purpose bandanas, coin purses, bum bags and metallic tattoos, all sell well over the summer months as festival favourites. July / August / September - Back To School
Discover our range of schoolwear hair accessories which are popular with school uniform retailers and children’s boutiques across the UK. The standard school colours of navy, royal blue, red, burgundy, bottle green, purple and of course black are all available in the school essential items such as elastics, sleepies, alicebands and scrunchies. We also have a new range of gingham hair accessories to match school summer dresses which are popular in most UK primary schools for the warmer months of the year. Sales of all schoolwear typically peak in July, August and September as parents prepare for their children returning to school, so we would recommend ordering the stock in time for these months. 31st October - Halloween
Low cost and easy costume options are the key to successful Halloween sales. Our bat deeley boppers are always popular, and our fairy wings were some of our best selling Halloween lines for 2021. All of our other animal headbands also sell exceptionally well for Halloween, as they offer a cheap and very simple costume solution for people of all ages. Sales are usually last minute for Halloween, but we recommend ordering your stock in September so you can maximise sales for the month of October and encourage any early bird purchases. 18th November - Children In Need
Another annual fundraising event in schools and businesses across the UK is Children in Need. The event raises money to fund over 2500 charities in the UK, and the popular BBC Children in Need show contributes vast amounts of money to the cause each year. Dressing up is an easy way to raise money, with many schools, companies and fundraising events needing costumes and dressing up supplies. Shop our range here. 25th November - Black Friday
One of the biggest events in the retail calendar is Black Friday which was anticipated to be worth £9.4 billion last year in the UK (https://www.statista.com/statistics/944955/back-friday-expected-spending-united-kingdom-uk/) Sales are typically online, but there has also been increased activity in traditional stores too. If you’re an online retailer it’s a good idea to make sure that you have enough stock of postal packaging to ship your orders out. 28th November - Cyber Monday
Cyber Monday is really just an extension of Black Friday, with the difference being that it is more targeted at increasing online sales. In the UK the spending on Cyber Monday is typically the same as Black Friday, so these are both huge opportunities which are not to be missed! 25th December - Christmas
The biggest selling event for UK retailers is Christmas. Sales usually start to creep up after Bonfire night on the 5th of November, and this is when most retailers launch their full Christmas range (after smaller launches in September / October time). Stock can be ordered all year round, and most customers receive their initial deliveries in August as they make their Christmas preparations. We have a collection of novelty Christmas accessories which make great pick up items in stores, and our Santa hats sell in huge volumes to corporate chains, schools, wholesalers and retailers across the globe. We also stock the best selling nativity costumes such as; angel wings, halo headbands, animal ears (donkey, horse, sheep and cow), so we do a lot of business with theatres, event companies and schools over the festive period. Our large range of Christmas gift bags and Christmas gift boxes sells well for retailers and wholesalers across the country. We have a variety of designs available which are suitable for children and adults. Most gift bags and gift boxes are packed in 12’s and we have large stock holdings so that re-orders can be done in season where many other suppliers usually run out.
